Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Full Professor, Nursing

The School of Nursing at Stony Brook University invites/seeks applications for (1) full-time tenured/tenure-track position from individuals who are passionate researchers, engaged faculty, and experts in their field. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to: health behavior, aging, neurosciences, social determinants of health, oncology, maternal and neonatal health, child health, mental health and wellness, veterans' health, information technology/data science/computer science, hand-held, wearable, and wireless sensor technologies/biomedical engineering, rehabilitation/disability, cardiovascular health, and other areas of science directed at the promotion and restoration of health and acute and chronic health conditions. Candidates should be prepared to pursue an active program of research and have or seek active research funding. Rank and salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Stony Brook School of Nursing offers generous start-up packages to highly qualified faculty.

At the rank of Assistant Professor, applicants must have outstanding research training and demonstrate research productivity and the potential to secured extramural research funding to support their development as successful independent research scientist. At the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, applicants will have or will demonstrate successful track records to obtain funding to support independent programs of funded research. Associate Professor or Professor candidates should also be prepared to mentor junior faculty. All candidates should be prepared to mentor doctoral students, be committed to fostering diversity and inclusion, foster collaborative interdisciplinary research, and teach at the undergraduate/graduate levels. Applicants with federally funded programs of research will receive reduced teaching loads relative to grant effort. Applicants seeking funding will receive reduced teaching loads for the first year.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

  • PhD degree or equivalent.
  • Have an identified program of research.
  • Hold or be eligible for a valid NY State professional nurse license.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Postdoctoral experience.
