About Quinsigamond Community College:

QCC was established in 1963 to provide access to higher education to residents of Central Massachusetts. Since the early 60s, enrollment has grown from 300 to over 13,000 full and part-time day and evening students served. QCC offers over 120 associate degree and certificate career options in Business, Health Care, Technology, Liberal Arts, and Human Services. Additionally, over 137 credit and 300 noncredit courses are offered online, as well as a wide variety of classroom non-credit courses, workshops, and seminars. Classes are provided on the main campus, in downtown Worcester (Healthcare, Workforce Development, Continuing Education), at the Worcester Senior Center (Hospitality & Recreation Management), at Burncoat High School (Automotive Technology), and in the city of Southbridge.


Job Description:


Adjunct instructors teach courses within a specific discipline to a diverse student population on our main campus in Worcester and/or at additional satellite locations within our service area. We are especially interested in instructors who are qualified to teach both algebra-based and calculus-based physics lab courses. Courses assigned are primarily day courses, and responsibilities include instructional preparation, assessment of student performance and assistance to students. Adjunct faculty will attend a limited number of faculty meetings.


Requirements:


Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate Degree. Applicant must be a graduate of an education program in Surgical Technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency.
  • Current certification (CST and/or CSFA) is required.
  • (3) three years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology or a combination of both.
  • (5) five years in the main operating room or multiple surgical specialties.
  • Individuals must also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to build successful relationships with students and faculty.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Teaching/training experience. Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity in the curriculum as appropriate.

Starting rate of pay is $1,291.00 per credit hour. Positions are MCCC Unit eligible.
