The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) will coordinate and provide patient care for the Sedation Center of the Kornberg School of Dentistry. The CRNA will work and collaborate with doctors and other multidisciplinary team members to promote and restore patient's health, and to provide physical and emotional support to patients, their families and friends. Primary responsibilities of the CRNA will be to assist doctors with the examination, preparation, and sedation process for various dental surgeries and procedures. In addition, the CRNA will be responsible for administering medications, continued care during the post-operative period, and patient follow up. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Nursing, certification from and accredited nurse anesthesia educational program, licensed in the state of Pennsylvania, ACLS and PALS certified, and at least 5 years of related experience including experience within a critical care or emergency room environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:
* Previous experience working with pediatric and special needs patients
* Knowledge of the Pennsylvania Nurse Practice Act for Registered Nurses.
* Knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique and blood and body fluid precautions.
* Knowledge, skill and ability to perform various medical and nursing procedures, and to operate medical equipment.
* General knowledge of and compliance with confidentiality of records and communications regarding patients/clients.
* Must be able to work with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and patients and their families.
* Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent organization and interpersonal skills
* Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and make independent decisions for non-complex issues.

Preferred:
* Previous experience within a dental environment.
This position requires a background check.
This position requires Child Abuse Certifications prior to the commencement of service.
