Job Overview

The Senior Research Administrator is an operational, financial, and administrative position in support of the Center for Translational Transplant Medicine (CTTM) at Georgetown University Medical Center. They are responsible for the operational, financial, and regulatory management of the center; as well as for the oversight of all extramural awards and clinical trials; and serves as administrative liaison with Federal, State and Corporate/Industry funding agencies as they relate to the Center. As well, the Senior Research Administrator is responsible for all aspects of recruitment, management and compliance of CTTM that support the operational effectiveness of the Center; and ensures that the day to day operations of the Center are conducted in accordance with University and Medical Center policy and procedures.

Work Interactions

The Senior Research Administrator provides support to the Director of CTTM, PIs, and staff; and implements policies of the institution, and creates new policies and SOPs that are necessary for the work of CTTM, as well as Center goals and objectives as directed by the Center Executive & Scientific Director.

The work of CTTM is multi-institutional in nature and requires collaboration with MedStar Health locations where research is conducted, such as Washington Hospital Center and Fairfax. The Senior Research Administrator works with the CROO to ensure compliance with policies and procedures from this office, and closely collaborates with BGRO finance partners and CROO budget and contract analysts to assure successful CTTM operations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree - Masters preferred
  • 5 to 7 years in Human Science Clinical Research and 3 years of Clinical Research Management
  • At least 3 years of financial/budgeting experience
  • 1 to 2 years of contract development
  • Strong computer skills and advanced understanding of Excel
  • Excellent customer service skills, managerial skills, and the ability to multi-task and set priorities
