Click here for more information: SLCC Mission and Values: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to take on the role of Program Coordinator and faculty for Community Health and Leadership(CHL) within the School of Health Sciences at Salt Lake Community College. This faculty member will focus on building, coordinating and enhancing the CHL program. Initiatives include: Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to build and maintain strong relationships, and program/curriculum development and instruction, marketing, and community outreach. The selected candidate will work closely with the Associate Dean and collaborate with other departments throughout the school. This faculty member will be the primary point of contact for all program-related inquiries and concerns. This includes, but is not limited to, curriculum design/delivery, collaboration with external partners, and evaluation of program and student-based measures to identify program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. This faculty member will be responsible to coordinate internally and externally to promote program growth and student success. CHL is a transfer focused program for students interested in management, research and administrative roles in healthcare. As a transfer focused program, the Program Coordinator will have a significant responsibility in external collaboration with local universities and industry partners. As a new program there will be a significant responsibility in program promotion and ensuing program meets the needs of these partners. The new hire will join with the current faculty to actively serve our students in successfully obtaining the skills and knowledge needed to be successful in their careers.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Teaching Work closely with department peers and administrator to understand processes and procedures that lead to becoming a successful teacher and contributing member of the academic unit. Maintain regular office hours and be available to provide help for students (5 hours per week in the office/online). Provide each student with a course syllabus, timely feedback, accurate schedule (including maintaining office hours), and other material as needed for course and/or program success. Make yourself available to teach courses at a time directed by the academic needs of the program and availability of staffing pool. Assist in maintaining a safe and mutually respectful instructional environment. Design and maintain a comprehensive program framework that includes curriculum development, resource allocation, and operational procedures. Effectively use instructional technology for both in person and online asynchronous classes. Conduct a variety of appropriate evaluations of student performance and provide appropriate and timely feedback for all assignments in a timely fashion, per department standards. Maintain student attendance records (for Financial Aid purposes) and grades. Inform students of progress-to-date periodically. Assign and submit grades by published deadlines. Handle/respond to student concerns/complaints and respond to student communications and inquiries promptly (generally within 1-2 days.) Participate in the tenure process including competing service and professional development duties and completing an annual ePortfolio. Provide ADA accommodations as requested.

Program Coordination Appointed at the discretion of the Academic Administration. Will work under the general oversight of the Associate Dean and collaborate closely with supervisor to ensure program success. Act as primary point of contact for all program-related inquiries and concerns. Analyze data and feedback to make informed decisions and adjustments to the program as needed. Provide leadership, coordination, and professional contributions to the Program, Division, School, and College. Assist in the management of operational processes and procedures such as teaching assignments, faculty loads, class and room schedules, class changes, etc. Assist in the preparation of appropriate college documents such as catalogs, handbooks, brochures, etc. Develop and maintain relationships with transfer universities and industry partners, including establishing and managing articulation agreements and affiliation agreements. Assist new and continuing students in an advisement capacity on courses and programs. Identify potential funding sources and collaborate with the fundraising team to secure financial support for the program.
Professional Development Complete required training and participates in professional development. Attend Convocation, Commencement, and other institutional meetings. Maintain an in-depth understanding in the chosen field which includes participation in professional development and maintenance of valid training status per Salt Lake Community College policies. Participates in at least one pedagogical development activity per academic year. Participates in at least one professional development activity within discipline per academic year.

Service Assist in hiring both full-time faculty, adjunct faculty, and part-time staff as needed. Work with concurrently enrolled students and faculty. Actively participate in department, division, school and college meetings, initiatives and strategic planning. Serves on at least one significant department, school, or college committee and/or fulfills specific assignment(s) as directed by Associate Dean.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree from a regionally or nationally accredited agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) in Health Administration, Public Health, or related field OR work experience in related field demonstrated to be equivalent of Bachelors degree. A minimum of 2-years experience in Health Administration, Public Health, or related field. A demonstrated commitment to community engagement and service. Experience working with community organizations, public health agencies, or governmental bodies.



Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree from a regionally or nationally accredited agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) in Health Administration, Public Health, or a related field. 5 years experience in Health Administration, Public Health, or related field. 2 years teaching experience in a post-secondary USDE-accredited institution. Experience in curriculum development, focusing on content delivery and assessment methods.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: A breadth of knowledge in the healthcare field, specifically health administration and/or public and community health. Technologically literate, adaptive, and innovative in the use of a variety of modern teaching technologies including the use of computers and multi-media in lectures, laboratories, and distance learning environments. The ability to employ instructional technology appropriately both in the classroom and as a tool for distance learning. Has a working knowledge of technology common in the Health Administration/Public Health field and is able to provide instruction using these technologies. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of and experience with content development and learning outcomes assessment. Comfortable presenting to groups. Knows and enforces pertinent institutional and federal regulations, including but not limited to: FERPA, DRC, and institutional policies. Has excellent oral and written communication skills. Has the ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, cultures, ethnic backgrounds, and abilities, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Has the ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities and special needs.
