Program Coordinator (part-time)


The University of Notre Dame (ND.jobs) is accepting applications for a Program Coordinator (part-time).

Applications will be accepted until 8/7/2017.

This part-time position will report to the Manager of Operations and will contribute to the Nanovic Institute for European Studies through support of various programs and initiatives. The employee must work well with all members of the team, be able to anticipate needs, have careful attention to detail, be able to offer gracious hospitality, and be versatile to work on a variety of topics and projects simultaneously. The tasks assigned throughout the year will fall into the following areas:
WRITING. This employee will create content for the website, social media, and other platforms as needed. The employee should be comfortable communicating orally and in writing; for example, the employee may need to speak with faculty members from a broad cross-section of the university to gain background information and quotes.
EVENT AND TEAM SUPPORT. Attend staff meetings and collaborate with other staff members and external units during planning and execution phases to ensure the success of all of the Institute's activities, events, programs, and visitors. Coordinate with the Keough School for Global Affairs as appropriate.
VISITING SCHOLARS. Assist with orientation, scheduling meetings with librarians and faculty members, and possibly assisting with the summer Catholic Leadership Institute program in 2018 and 2019.
LAURA SHANNON PRIZE. Assist with the solicitations and review process for the Nanovic Institute's $10,000 Laura Shannon Prize in Contemporary European Studies. Will need to solicit books from publishers, organize books, and shepherd the books through a routinized process.
DATABASE SUPPORT. Update database as needed, provide contact information as needed to unit, find and organize information about past grant recipients and others connected to the Institute through, for example, LinkedIn.
These above tasks will vary in priority throughout the year. The successful candidate must be a collegial and competent colleague to join the Institute staff, be flexible in adjusting priorities and tasks, and supportive as we move into our new home in Nanovic Hall.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree. Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, email management) and writing ability. Some previous experience in an office or academic setting required.

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree preferred. The ideal candidate should have strong writing, grammar, and oral communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple events and projects at the same time.
